About

I'm Kendal-Marie, the founder and designer behind Bushel of Prints. I grew up in upstate South Carolina, spent my childhood summers exploring Palmetto Bluff on a bike with no plan, and have called Charleston home for the past seven years. Somewhere between setting crab traps off the dock and admiring the blue willow in my mom's dining room, aesthetics and the Lowcountry became part of how I see everything.

Bushel of Prints started with shrimp. I was dreaming up something new right as a local shrimp scandal had all of Charleston talking. Turning a moment like that into a funny anecdote is exactly how my brain works - so I designed my first print: shrimp in Santa hats with Tiffany Blue bows around their necks. Advertised as local shrimp. People got the joke instantly. That's when I realized these little niches - the inside motifs a community shares - are what connect us all.

Every pattern comes from a real life experience. The fun part is that a motif may mean one thing to me and something entirely different to you. I've watched people pick up a print at a market and light up over a memory I never could have predicted. Some designs are playful and some lean quiet and artisan.

Wrapping paper is the final layer of intention in gifting. So much thought goes into finding the perfect gift and the perfect card. The paper deserves that same intention. When you choose a print that means something, the person unwrapping it feels it before they even see what's inside. That spark of recognition, that "this is perfect" moment, is what I'm designing for every time! Perhaps, aside from the high quality paper - these moments are true life luxury.

Designed in Charleston, SC. Rooted in the Lowcountry. Made to be part of the story.
